A customer sees your product on Instagram and sends you a message asking for the price, delivery cost and payment details. You answer every question, copy an account number into the chat and wait for a payment screenshot.

That process may work for a few customers, but it becomes difficult to manage as enquiries increase. With a Piya business site, customers can browse your catalog, choose what they want and submit their order online without waiting for you to reply to every message.

This guide explains how to prepare your Piya business, receive online orders and manage each request from your Piya workspace.

What you need before receiving online orders

Your online ordering process depends on four important parts:

  • A complete business profile that customers can recognise and trust.
  • Published products, services or other catalog items.
  • At least one active payment method.
  • A Piya website address that you can share with customers.

If you offer delivery, appointments or reservations, you may also need to configure delivery prices, service locations or booking availability.

1. Complete your business details

Start by checking the information customers will see when they visit your site.

From your Piya dashboard, open Profile and select Business details. Add or confirm your:

  • Business name
  • Business category
  • Description and tagline
  • Email address and phone number
  • Business or service location

Use a clear description that tells customers what you sell, who it is for and where you operate. For example, “Ready-to-wear outfits and custom tailoring for women in Lagos” is more useful than “We sell quality fashion.”

You can also use the Branding section to add your logo, cover image, brand colours and social links. These details help customers recognise that they are ordering from the correct business.

2. Publish the items customers can order

Open the Catalog section of your Piya dashboard. Depending on your business category, Piya may use a more specific name such as Products, Services, Treatments or another suitable term.

Create each catalog item with enough information for a customer to make a decision. Include:

  • A simple, recognisable name
  • A clear description
  • The correct price and currency
  • Useful photographs
  • Available options or variants, where relevant
  • The location where the item is available

Review the details and select Publish. Only publish an item when its price, description and availability are correct.

For example, a skincare seller could publish “Vitamin C Face Serum — 30 ml” with its price, benefits and product image. A salon could publish “Wash, Treatment and Styling” with its duration and available booking times.

3. Set up your Piya website address

Your Piya website address is the link customers will use to visit your business online.

Go to Profile, open Online setup and select Website address. Choose an available Piya address that is short, easy to spell and close to your business name.

After saving it, open the address yourself and check how the site looks on both a phone and a computer. Confirm that your business name, images, catalog items and contact details appear correctly.

4. Choose how customers can pay

Go to Profile and select Payment settings. Piya currently supports payment options such as:

  • Bank transfer: customers see your approved account details and may provide payment evidence during checkout.
  • Pay online: customers are directed through the available online payment process.
  • Pay later: customers submit their order and pay according to your collection or delivery arrangement.

Enable only the methods your business can manage consistently. If you accept bank transfers, add the correct payout account and create a clear process for confirming payments before preparing an order.

Piya requires business verification before bank transfer and online payment options can be activated. Complete the verification request early so it does not delay your launch.

5. Configure pickup, delivery or booking details

If customers will collect their purchases, make sure your business or service location is accurate.

If you offer delivery, open Profile, select Online setup and review the Delivery section. Configure the prices or delivery zones that apply to your business. Customers can then choose an available fulfilment option during checkout.

Delivery configuration helps calculate what the customer should pay, but your business is still responsible for preparing the package and arranging fulfilment.

Businesses that take appointments should also configure their available hours before inviting customers to book online.

6. Test the full customer journey

Do not share your site widely until you have placed a test order yourself.

  1. Open your Piya business site as a customer.
  2. Select a product, service or other catalog item.
  3. Add the item to the cart or begin the booking process.
  4. Choose pickup, delivery or the relevant service location.
  5. Select an available payment method.
  6. Sign in or create a customer account when prompted.
  7. Submit the test order.
  8. Confirm that the request appears in the Sales section of your dashboard.

Check the price, customer details, payment method, delivery information and any note attached to the request. If something is unclear, correct the setup before sharing the link with customers.

7. Share your business site where customers already find you

Once your test is successful, add your Piya business link to the channels you already use. Useful places include:

  • Your Instagram and TikTok bios
  • Your WhatsApp Business profile
  • WhatsApp Status updates
  • Product posts and social media captions
  • Email signatures
  • Receipts, packaging cards and printed flyers

Do not share only the link. Give customers a reason to open it.

Browse our available items, see current prices and place your order online here: [your Piya business link]

You can also send a direct link when someone asks, “How can I order?” This lets the customer complete the details while you continue serving other people.

8. Manage new orders from your Sales section

When a customer completes checkout, the request is recorded in your Piya dashboard. Open the Sales section—or the category-specific name shown for your business—to review it.

Before accepting or preparing a request, confirm:

  • The customer's name and contact details
  • The selected items and quantities
  • The pickup, delivery or appointment information
  • The selected payment method
  • The payment status
  • Any note or special instruction from the customer

Update the request as it moves through your workflow. A clear status helps your team understand what needs attention and reduces the chance of an order being forgotten inside a chat.

A simple launch checklist

Before announcing that your Piya business is ready to receive online orders, confirm that:

  • Your business name and contact details are correct.
  • Your logo and cover image are clear.
  • Your catalog items have accurate prices and descriptions.
  • Your business or service locations are correct.
  • At least one payment method is active.
  • Your delivery prices or booking hours are configured where required.
  • Your Piya website address works.
  • You have successfully completed a test order.
  • You know who on your team will review and respond to new requests.

Make online ordering easier for you and your customers

A good online ordering process should answer the customer's basic questions before they need to send a message: What is available? How much does it cost? Can it be delivered? How can I pay?

Your Piya business site brings those answers into one customer journey. It also keeps submitted orders connected to customer details, making it easier to manage the current sale and follow up after it.

If you are still collecting every order manually through chat, start with one small step: publish your most popular catalog items, configure one reliable payment method and test your Piya business link today.
